Latarsha, known
as ‘Tasha’ can be found encouraging others and sharing her warm
smile. People are drawn to her because of her unique style and
sophistication. Where ‘funky’ and ‘classy’ usually clash, she has
found a smooth way to bring it together. This is obvious in her
personal style, ministry style and in her music.
Her early
interest and growth in music came by faithfully being a part of her
church children’s choir, and then youth choir, and eventually the
praise & worship team. She also was apart of the Mt. Olivet School
of Performing Arts in dance ministry. Latarsha continued her pursuit
through the course of her college years at Virginia State
University, where she was involved in the band as a majorette,
dancer, and The Virginia State Gospel Choral.
Latarsha was
swept off of her feet by God when , in the middle of pursuing a
secular career in R&B, He made it clear that His destiny for her
life was through gospel music. She rededicated her life to Christ
and through His Word in Proverbs 3:5-6 she received her instruction
to “Trust
in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own
understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct
your paths.”
The next day, she
began writing and singing gospel music, as the Lord gave her the
songs to write. She also knew that because she felt love like she
had never felt before and love was going to be the basis of her
songs that she first had to learn the true meaning of love and how
to love.
1Corinthians 13 taught her that love never fails.
Since 2002 Latarsha Foster
Woods has been singing & ministering throughout the East Coast. She
later established her band that she calls “Kingdom Soul”. When they
minister it is a total praise and worship experience. Her
music is a combination of flavors including R&G (Rhythm & Gospel),
Soul, & Jazz – which brings forth a special sound. To GOD be
the Glory! Within the lyrics there are stories of love, acceptance,
salvation, joy, and healing, and it takes you from praise to worship.
Her debut album was
released in February 2006 and has continued to bless people across
the country. She recently signed with an independent record label
named Keeping God 1st in November 2006.
Latarsha’s mission, dream, &
goal as a psalmist is to witness to people across the world
through her music, or
however the Lord enables her to. The mission through her music is to
deliver a message of healing & deliverance to the lives of so many
lost souls, who are in search for ‘Love & Purpose’, and the only way
to find true love & true purpose is to first know & except Jesus
Christ as your Lord & Personal Savior! Even though she loves to sing
& dance, her concerts and shows are not to entertain, but minister
to the Glory of the Lord, and that each person will leave knowing
that “ I just had an experience of Life.”
Latarsha
Foster Woods is a native of Petersburg, VA. She currently resides
in Richmond, VA with her husband Travis, who is her best friend and
soul mate.
